You may have questions about the emotional, behavioral, or intellectual functioning of an adult client, loved one, neighbor, or yourself. We provide testing or evaluations for intelligence, learning disabilities, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, personality disorders, and many other psychological or emotional disorders.
Neuropsychological assessments are provided to evaluate functioning across several cognitive domains, including attention, sensation and perception, visuospatial ability, motor function, language ability, and executive function. These assessments are often performed after there has been a brain insult such as brain injury from an accident, hypoxia (deprivation of adequate oxygen) at birth, strokes, etc.
We provide a service for the community and we have a limited number of students who can do testing. As a result, we perform assessments for those who are most likely to benefit from the testing. For example, curiosity of one's IQ is not a sufficient reason to complete an assessment. We also do not perform custody evaluations, court ordered evaluations, or assessments to support a civil suit. Clients who are applying for Social Security Disability should use the licensed psychologists that the Division of Disability Services will provide.
